Cruise Control light won't come on and setting CC no longer works. I popped the fuse box lid and examined the fuse map, but no reference to a CC fuse. Any ideas for troubleshooting?

Probably the clockspring in the steering wheel.

Jediwebdude, were you able to get your cruise working again? Was it the clockspring?

An old GMC dealer I knew mine told me a story of the same problem, They tried everything and it still did not work (i.e. change the cruise, etc.). After turning it over the factory engineer they told him that the computer will refuse it go into cruise if it finds a problem (in this case the 3rd brake light was not pulling enough amps).

I can't think of anything else off hand but I'd check everything that has to do with functionality/safety as they can program some weird stuff into the computers now a days. ( i.e. Seats belt sensors working, even the front passenger seat sensor, etc. )

That's a little scary. Cars are too "smart" these days

My 06 Prerunner had this issue.
It must be something in the actual switch because if I pushed it two/three times, it would work...sometimes worked right off, sometimes not.

Sold the pickup but would have been worth the time to disassemble the switch and check/clean contacts. Hope you get it fixed...
