So I have been looking at tires for a while now. Went to town fair for a price quote on a set of General Grabber AT2s. On a set of LTs they wanted 199 a tire basically coming out to 925 for the job. Also quoted a set of P rated Toyo open Country AT2s for same price. Then they threw at me a tire I never heard of before. Nexen Roadian AT PRO RA8. Those were 169 a tire and 799 out the door for the job.

I have been wanting a set of LT Grabbers for some time but have been unsure now as they don't have a mileage estimate. Does anyone know how many miles they would usually get. I understand everything differs.

My main dealings is highway driving 30 miles each way to work. Then mostly back roads for home and family areas. Little off roading but nothing extreme sadly as there is really no where to go around here.

Also been playing with just getting P rated tires instead of the LT. I think the LT are sweet and would love to have them but have a need to have tires that lost more than 30-40k miles.

I have the General Grabber AT2's. Got about 37,000 miles on them, Still tread left. They're pretty quite, ride good. My one complaint is they pick up rocks, pretty bad when newer. I've had them in icy/ snow conditions, a little mud (not much bc I hate it) etc. They've done fine for what I've thrown at them.

I pm'd you back. But if you really don't have a "need" for the heavier tire, I wouldn't get them. Could effect your mpg and ride firmer/stiffer.
From what you describe for your needs I'd say just get the standards/P. They'll ride a little softer and maybe won't effect your mpg as much as LT. And they look the same. That's my 2cents.

You're welcome. Either would be fine, but it really comes down to what you want. But going by your needs the P should be fine. If you wanted the extra security in a thicker tire maybe go with the LT. Guess you just have to weight your wants/needs/what makes sense.
