I'm new to the site so bare with me. Looking to install a rear view camera on my 2014 base model regular cab with a manual transmission and the touchscreen non navigation radio. Dealer said the truck was completely wired and of course this is not the case. Bought an oem camera off eBay plugs into tailgate harness no problem but does not work when put in reverse. Anybody have any ideas of what else is missing?

The dealer is right that the wiring is there. Get out a DMM and make sure there is power going to the tailgate harness. If not, check to see if a fuse is missing. What screen are you trying to connect to?

Doesn't look like anyone builds that as an aftermarket - and who knows how much Toy would want for it. Better option might be to resell the oem camera, and get the OEM integration kit from camerasource. On their site they ask you if you have 4 or one wire:
" If there is only one wire in this connector that heads toward the cab then you are not prewired and you need to select the full harness configuration from the drop down above. This full harness config will come with the radio interface harness and a 28' chassis harness that will go from the camera to the radio."

It also appears they do not charge any extra if you need the harnesses. $219 either way.

While we're talking about this - I've got an 07 - I know I'm not prewired, and don't care - but will an 09-13 handle assembly fit my tailgate?

    I don't think they started the pre-wiring until 08?

Yeah - I just want the tailgate handle with the spot for the camera. License plate mounts don't really give me the perspective I want.

Great response thanks everybody. Turns out I have the dreaded "One Wire" on the truck side sending the camera back tomorrow. Thanks for the help this is my first new truck and didn't feel like ripping it apart.
