Rear Differential Air Pressure

    I was concerned about water in my gear oil, so I pulled the rear diff fill plug to inspect the oil.

    The oil looked nice and clear, although I did notice what appeared to be soot or something around the plugs threads.

    But as I was removing the plug, I noticed a hissing sound, as if some air was being released.

    Is that normal?

    I have not done any breather mods to it. It is completely stock.
