I'm back in the game

Well folks, got rid of the SR awhile ago. Today just picked a S/C'd 01 DC prerunner. Got a couple of maintenance items to take care of (fluid flush, brakes, and possibly a motor mount. Getting a weird clunk in front when coming to complete stop) but she is otherwise in awesome shape. I am going to have to cure my modding on this one though. No more 4 linked beasts for me.

Yeah, been doing some research and seems like lost cause. I was under the truck yesterday though and think I found the culprit. So these trucks only have side motor mounts, and a single tranny mount, with lots of play. Did some experiments with some lurching in driveway and the travel allowed in tranny allows the entire drive assembly about an inch and a half of travel causing the whole thing to rock. It seems that you could fab up a new mount but I am sure that this would make for an insanely rough ride.

 

No more 4-linked beasts huh? Ah I see, going for a LT prerunning king.
