I am going to be replacing my center support bearing tomorrow because of the notorious 50+mph vibration and all and I think I have everything for the job except for a bench vise and I am wondering is that is a make it or break deal for doing the job. Any help would be great! Also, tricks for the job from those who have done it would be much appreciated.

when I did mine the bearing slip right off the shaft without a vise or a puller. there is a sticky on the 1th gen forum on how to replace it.

no, I changed mine and never actually removed the driveshaft, but I did separate it at the middle, slid the old one off, new one on, all while just laying under the truck..

Did you perform the correct torque / seat sequence? I know I needed a vice to properly seat the bearing.
