Clutch sounds help pleas

    it has a k&N airtake system that came on it when I bought It
    Hey guys I have a 98 tacoma 4 banger 5 speed and when I putt the truck in neutral and let out on the clutch it makes a wining sound but when I press the cluch in it stop any one know what's happening . It's not a really loud sound at all it kinda hard to hear but it's there so can I get some advice thanks you guys away rock .

    When you take your foot off the clutch in neutral , all the gearing inside the transmission starts to turn . In most cases , you will hear the gearing spinning while idling in neutral .
    With this said , has the spinning or whining sound increased in pitch ? is the sound louder than it has been in the past ?
    Have you checked for proper fluid level ? Have you ever changed the transmission fluid ?
    Could also be a release bearing issue . Need more info

    It's a 5 speed I thought lol that it ran off grease not transmission fluid ?! And yes that sounds about right with all the gears moving in neutral .

    GREASE??? in a tranny? BTW=oil is fluid.

    How do you putt gear oil in ?? I didn't know of this that you had to putt gear oil in !! You it's are awesome .

    There is a Bolt near the top of the tranny-Fill to the opening.
    Do a search here for your truck--need some help??
