I've been noticing that my side mirros, mostly my driver's side aren't really resistant to any force. If I were to run it through a car wash, they'd be flipped backwards. The passenger side hasn't really done it, and I've only seen it do it today. Is there a way to fix this?

It may be possible to tighten the swing mechanism, I haven't looked to see if it is a ball joint style, but if it is, the plastic seat may have some wear and a little tightening will help.

Better to have it swing then break off.

I think there's a spring in there that you can tighten.

I know Blackdawg has an extensive write up for installing lights on the backside of the mirror casing and in it he takes the whole thing apart. and rebuilds so that's a place to start.
