The mission: Convert as many components in the engine compartment to blue and gloss black colors as reasonable.

The tools: Paint, silicone, beer, new parts.

The timeline: Until my money runs out or the wife kicks me to the curb for spending money like this on the Taco. Or whatever.

    It's on.

    Op #1: Silicone hoses

    Mission debrief:

Meh. I am not sold yet on the durability of this hose. Although the inner diameter seems to be the same, the fit is much looser - not nearly as tight. If the connector has a lip or barb, you have to be careful that the cut you made on the end does not catch and tear the hose.

The outer diameter is larger than the original hose, and is tacky. I set it on the ground and the hose was immediately coated in fine dust that is not wiping off easily.

When there is no barb to seat around, the end appears to have some gapping.

But the end result does look nice.

I have not yet replaced all the hoses as the light is fading and the mosquitoes are out in force, but if this all seems to hold vacuum I will continue.

Decision: The jury is out until I put some miles on it and see how it holds up.

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
Pretty sure NGK wiresets are blue.

Yep - those are my next purchase! This truck had mice nibbling away on the electrical wiring. The original owner had replaced the wires twice already, and this new set he put on I can see some bite marks. So, NGK it is! The then ADD W1 oil catch can, which is blue. And I believe Royal Purple makes a nice blue oil filter, which isn't really visible all that much, but you can see it if you look right. So my next oil change will be that (at $12 a filter). And on and on.
