Hey guys, my HVAC fan will only operate on full speed.

Is there a surefire way to make sure it's the fan switch and not the fan motor again?
I already replaced the fan motor once (chirping at low) , but a switch would be cheaper.

    Any tricks?

ETA: hold your responses. I just found a thread that might be my issue too. It didn't pop up on my first search :)

    Reserected from the dead.
More likely the fan speed resistor. Pretty cheap and easy to replace.

If anyone needs a fan, I've got one for sale I bought for my 2010. I sold truck before I could install it. It repairs or fixes the mouse on an excersize wheel sound.

Prob would go $100 shipped to the lower 48.

Wiggle your connector on the resistor while on a mid fan speed before replacing anything. If your fan comes back, you only have a connector problem... fairly common.

Check for debris in your vent blower if you haven't added the screen to the cowl opening above the cabin filter... had a field mouse family in my vent blower soon after I bought my truck. I live out in the woods.

Tapping gently on the vent blower with a mag light would make the vent blower in my truck operate normally until I turned it down to low or off ... Then another tap would get it operating again

Don't leave the fan swith in the one of the 'on' positions without the vent blower operating or you will burn a resistor up
