Hey this is my first post on here, although I've been lurking for a few months getting ready to buy my first Tacoma - a brand new 2014 TRD.

This weekend I had my first chance to hit some easy trails in Sequoia National Forest to test it out - playing around with all the buttons for A-Trac, descent control etc. These were forest roads, not true off-roading. Not ready for dings and scratches yet!

I heard a lot of sharp creaking coming from the suspension that would happen just coming on and off weight in the dirt, and was wondering if others have/had this issue and what it might be?

A-trac and descent control makes a lot of noise. are you sure it wasn't those?

Yeah, I was ready for those sounds from a-trac and descent control from the brakes after watching some videos. And it was happening without those on.

Probably just the leafs creaking. Look around at all the leaf install posts. As far as I know they all make some noise off road. I know mine do and I'm not worried about it

Cool, thanks for that. That's what I figured/hoped it was, just the new leaf springs. But my jeep never made noises like that (yes, I'm a convert) and it's so hard to tell with a new truck if its normal or something that you need to worry about.

I'm pretty sure all tacoma's "creak" and make noises when the suspension flexes.

Mine did the same, rock it side to side and you can locate it, I sprayed my upper control arm and it fixed it

My springs squeaked. Had to spray them with grease weekly. Was very annoying.
