    Hi all.

    Hi Chris.

    I understand.

This is why I try to provide some explanation.

    Cheers
    Ray.

If you flip down your driver's side sun visor, you'll see a silver "cheat sheet" tucked in a clear plastic sleeve. This silver card will give you quick instructions on the operation of your 4WD/4LO feature.

I undestand where your coming from and that doing a test for a few minutes won't hurt anything. I (and alot of others here) try to steer the new owners away from engageing their part-time 4WD on pavement for the monthly 10 mile thing mentioned in the owners manual. Alot of guys come on here complaining about their truck binding and making all kinds of noises and wonder why...it's just easier to tell them to avoid doing it on pavement alltogether. I'm sure engaging 4WD on dry pavement won't result in immediant damage (especially for a "test" like you mentioned) but every article wrote on part-time 4WD says damage will occur over time if it's done consistantly....never read one artical stating otherwise.

You can engage 4H and 4L on pavement as long as you generally follow a straight line.
