Went camping in our Jayco 1207 tent trailer this weekend, about 300kms each way through some mountain passes. The trailer is 1950 lbs empty, we had to bring water, about 190 lbs plus our stuff. Truck is stock with a canopy and canoe on top. I had some items in the back of the truck and some in the trailer, about 500lbs for passengers. Was surprised when I went through the scales to check our weight and truck was 6000 and trailer was 2350. According to to the door sticker max truck weight is 5500. I thought the trailer would be higher and truck less. Truck and trailer look level when towing although rear does come down a bit once trailer is on. Any thoughts or should I leaves is? Was getting around 14mpg.

Was the truck weighted w/ the trailer hooked up? If so, some of that truck weight is the trailer. Move some goods to the trailer. 14MPG is decent.
