New o the forum and been planning this for quite a while, finally settled on a 1st-gen taco over various flavors of Range Rover.

    My vehicle requirements are :
Pull a 31' Airstream, gross weight a bit under 5,000 lbs (rebuilt with lightweight interior components)
Able to go offroad for exploration and play...not into mudding just for the sake of it, but love going places where cars can't for anything from canoeing to mountain biking to geocaching
Carry a couple of bikes on back
Drive daily, at least on days that I don't ride my motorcycle
    Fit in a car-sized space
Have the ability to use alternate fuels
    Be a stick-shift

Please don't suggest a large American truck, my penis is adequate, thank you :)

What I have in mind is:

    1st-generation Tacoma double-cab 4x4
    Mild lift
    Isuzu 4bd1t, mildly tweaked
Trayback conversion from http://www.uteltd.com/ - you can see how much room my friend gained on her Navara at [IMG]

I just finished nursing school so am just now starting on the lookout for the truck...the engine swap will probably be he last part. I won't need to go on the road with it that much until I start travel-nursing. in due time, I may move to one of the smaller 5th-wheels.

Just learning to play with 3ds Max. The removable tag axle mounts to 3 receivers (including the original tow receiver) and uses torsion bars to keep the rear axle raised and air bags to force it down under load.
