2014 Tacoma limited with fuel issues

Ok so I just go this car a month ago with only 10 miles on it, I put about 1000 miles on it since. last Friday I went to fill up my tank because my gas light was on. well I was filling it up and it clicked off at 37 dollars (usually cost me around 70 with premium) so when I turn my car n to pull off I notice my gas light is on. I try to fill it again and it just clicks off at around a dollar. So i had a flight to catch and needed to get to the airport so i decided to risk it and drive to the airport with the gas light on. I made it there no problem and that was that i figured id fill up when i get back from my trip.

SO! two days later when i return i go to a shell station to go fill up. it was about at least five miles away from the airport and i made it there and went to fill up. this time the gas clicks off at under a dollar! so i moved to a different pump and the same thing happened! My gas light is still on and i am driving around on it with no problems driving wise.

I want to know if anyone has had this issue? I know i could take it to the dealership because it is under warranty still but id like to avoid that. any help?

 

Your fuel float/sending unit is sticking or broken. The dealer will need to remove the fuel tank and replace it because it's inside the tank. The tank is full. (My guess.)

 

Did you take it to the same gas station or did you try a different one once you got back?
