Block heater install problem: 2012 4.0L

I was just under the truck to install my block heater ordered from the dealer. I blew the hole out wit compressed air, assembled and lubed the unit, and lowered it down near the hole. Then I crawled under the truck to slide it in. I was having to "Helen Keller" it because my arm blocked my view of what I was doing. For some reason I couldn't get the heater in. Upon closer inspection there is a bracket right in the way! I've never loaded a picture on this site and don't have time right now anyway.

I'm certain I'm trying to put the heater in the correct spot. I keep reading how easy this is and it frustrates me that it should be done and I could be enjoying my day off.

Could some of you good folks take a peek and see if you have the same bracket right in the way? I don't think I could even get a wrench in there to loosen and move it.

Thanks for the link, it confirms that I'm trying to put it in the right hole (yes, i'm fighting the urge to add snarky comments).

The hole is right next to the upper of two bolts on the transmission. On that bolt there is a bracket which just seems to hold a wiring harness in place. I got the bolt just loose enough to shift the bracket (with much swearing) using a 17mm socket and ratchet. There's not enough room to cycle the ratchet, so I'm having to remove it and cycle it a couple clicks at a time by hand each time the bolt turns a hair's width. This sucks. I'm going to have to remove the bolt entirely, I think, as the bracket has shifted but is still not allowing the heater into the hole.

And, yes, Montana has already had snow. Really though, I just want to get it done before hunting season. I wouldn't want to be wasting time under my truck when I could be out having fun in the woods.

 

Okay, I just read to the last post in the link above. 2012 has a bracket for O2 sensor right there. 17mm socket and universal joint extension should do the trick. It wouldn't have been as frustrating if I had known to expect it. You've all officially been warned.

Edit: 3/8 drive stubby flex head ratchet made completion a reasonable task.
