Any thoughts on this? In 1st and 2nd I rub against the leather and the rubber boot inside the leather. Both are toast. I don't want to install new ones because it'll just happen again and these parts are expensive!! If I have the window open at high speed, hot air comes rushing from underneath at myright leg from the hole in my shifter boot... Anyone else have this problem?

    That's impressive.

I'd check the motor and transmission mounts. If you're wearing through the boots, the transmission must be rotated.

That's what someone else also told me, but my mechanic told me the part under the shifter... A sort of "knee cap" had worn out but it was an expensive fix and I should live with it until it doesn't work anymore. Pretty much told me the whole shifter assembly was shitting the bed.

That would make sense. I have the heavy duty marlin crawler clutch. Just skeptical because my mechanic that's telling me this is the one that installed it and may just not want to own screwing up the transmission remount... Thanks though. I'll give that a try. Hopefully it's that easy of a fix

I never heard of the shifter going out.
