My base 2012 does not have the bed outlet and stock inverter.

What would be the easiest way to add an inverter (inside), without going too fancy into mods or wiring?

Inverter model recommendations welcome, as well!

ive been wanting to add one to my 06 SR5.

The easiest way IMO would to find a trd offroad at a junkyard and get the parts from it -a direct fit.
other than that, you'd have to get creative. a lot of members on here have made their own systems and proclaim the factory ones are rubbish due to their small inversion limits. you cant run too many things on the factory inverters.
