    I'm thinking about selling my Tacoma and would like some advice from people that have either sold one online or have some knowledge about the process.

    My main concern is to payment do most transactions go down as cash transactions? I'm not too crazy about using PayPal and I've heard that even Cashiers Checks are not the "gold standard" they once were.

    Any tips or advice is welcome it's not every day that I sell a vehicle and the last few years the methods used have changed dramatically.

    I sold my Mini online. There are 2 ways to go. Either get cash up front (even then, be wary unless you know if they are counterfeit or not), or go with them to their Bank and watch them cut the Cashiers Check or cash.
    Personal Check = NO
    Paypal = NO
    Credit Card = NO.

    Sell locally if possible only.

    Thanks for the response, Paypal is a joke with all the fees involved I would only use Paypal for a security deposit.

    I once sold an antique sportscar to a buyer in France that wanted to wire me money to a bank account. Scarey considering all the scams you hear about.

    I had no idea how to proceed, so, at the advice of my bank, they said to open a new savings account and put in the minimum amount to hold the account open and give the buyer the account number. When the wired money came in, they called that financial institution to verify funds and held the money for a short period (which IIRC was approx a week) till the wire cleared. I withdrew the money and closed the account without any problems.

    I'm not sure I would do this again, but when trying to sell when advertising on the internet, you're advertising to the world. This worked for me, it was scarey as it involved alot of money and I had never done this before. Perhaps I was lucky, but my bank did say that they do this type of transaction frequently.

    Good luck, I hope you find a way to sell your truck that works for you. :D
