Chris,
I used to have a cat problem in my 1st house way back when it still snowed here in Phoenix!
I picked up a Havaheart ( spelling? ) live trap.
Cage with a door kind of thing.
Dispatching and disposing is messy and nowadays can put you in the room with no windows.
So I would bait it and usually by the next morning I would have a new tenant.
Place a blanket over it and load in truck, release in a better neighborhood, kind of like Bornefree only mini size.
Works well to spread the wealth and not go back to jail again!

I am not a cat hater but I believe if you have a pet you should take care of it including housing and toilet duty. If you chose to let them roam they may MOVE to better places.
