As im also searching for info on this in tandem, i figured id ask as well.
my 01 tacoma 3.4L just hit 200k. did the timing belt, water pump, t-stat, etc. no leaks from any seals, no odd noises. still pulls strong.

My question is, i was toying around with putting the trd charger on it. i used to have a 4 runner and at about 76k miles, i put one on. i sold it with 170k , and it was just as strong.

But ive never put one on with such high miles. my next step was a compression /leakdown test. i know the 3.4's last quite a while, esp with regular maintenance. Anyone have/share similar stories or insight on this?

    Thanks
    Anthony

Given that everything else is sound, only concern I'd have really would be the lower end & these(3.4's) aren't known for rods sticking thru block or cranks snapping so go forth & S/C......

As long as the compression is in limits I wouldn't worry.

I've supercharged other vehicles with very high milage. I just made sure compression was good and didn't run too much boost. Boosted a guys Integra that had over 200k, he's at 300k now and has had no issues. He also maintains his car better than he does his marriage.

That being said I am going to have my transmisson rebuilt in 2 weeks as well :p. Pretty sure they are largely unrelated though. i think I was the first one to service the trans on my truck, and I got it at 75k.

Boosted mine at 130K. Runs better than ever. Just make sure it's fueled properly with the SC and that it doesn't ping. If it pings, retard the timing. A properly fueled and timed 5vz with a SC should last just as long as one that's NA.

Did mine at 160K miles and I am just at about 175K now on my '02 3.4 5spd... I also replaced the clutch at mine to make it a brainless swap. You won't regret it.
