I have an 1999 taco. Just had a baby boy and need a 4 door. I want to get 2nd generation. I have been looking everywhere and have a 20g budget.
I found an 07 double cab. Within that budget.
Any thoughts on the 07 double cab TRD?

IMO 20k is a lot for a 7 year old truck.

If it's a 4X4 and doesn't have too many miles, that's a pretty fair price for a 7 year old Tacoma that's mechanically identical to a new Tacoma.

Plus don't the 05-09? Have frame rust issues? Especially since OPs in Oregon.

+1, and that's why I bought new. People wanted way too much for their old trucks.

OP depending on options that is a pretty fair starting price in the PNW.

That is a decent price depending on the overall condition of the truck. Its not high mileage either. Maybe have it checked out by a trusted mechanic? I have an 05 DC with 160K on it and haven't had any trouble at all.

I did a ton of research, initially wanting to be in that $20k range as well. While I agree, that's a lot for a 7 year old truck, that's what the market is unfortunately. I had a very hard time finding any 2nd gen 4DR 4x4 around $20k with less than 100k miles on them. I ended up just dropping the extra $10k and went new as I couldn't justify paying $20k for a truck with those miles. Being from WI and not wanting to drive 800 miles south to pick one up, frame rust was another reason I opted for a new rig over something 5-6 yrs old.
