I need some help. I have a 2001 double cab TRD 4x4 with v6 engine.
Everything I have read says my transmission should be the A340H.
The door sticker says it's the A340F. What's up? I plan to service the transmission since it has over 100,000 miles. I had the dealership do a drain and refill about 10,000 miles ago and the underfilled it by almost 2 quarts. I noticed it slipping when I made left hand turns. I'll be doing my own work and would like to know why I have the F vs the H tranny.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know what you've been reading but if 1st gen 4x w/auto you've got an A340F , thats the transmission it came with too , this is why you have the A340F....

    F is for 4x4 designation.

Thanks for all the info. It was a drain and fill and I got the tranny info from threads on this forum. The thread said that v6 4x4's had the H tranny.
