    Need help installing an aftermarket tach in my 96 2.4 2wd. I need the RPM signal wire location, if anyone could give me any information I would appreciate it, thanks

    There is a tach wire running to your gauge cluster even if you don't have a stock tach. The '96 FSM says it's on pin 12 of the blue connector on the back of the cluster (third from the left), and it should be a black wire.

    On the later 1st gens (2000+?) it's a green with black stripe wire on a different connector.

    As for the 1995.5, I would assume it's also on a connector on the back of the cluster. As for the 2004, that's a completely different generation and I have not a single clue.

    You can just buy a factory cluster that has a tach on it and it will bolt right in and plug in on the back side. Tach harness is already in the dash
