Hi everyone, I just bought an '06 (its originally from Omaha where they dont use much salt), I know its a 2nd gen tacoma, but heres my question, I live in Minneapolis where they salt the roads heavely, I see all these 1st Gen Tacomas running around here in minneapolis that look really good, has anyone from a heavy road salt area had their Taco undercoated for rust prevention on the body and is it worth it? I want my 2nd Gen Taco to look as good in 7 years as these 1st gen ones I see look now. Generally whats your experience with undercoating the body, for preventing rust.

This title is so misleading. Saw the term 2nd gen then stopped caring.

Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
Don't know how many do but it's a damned good idea, I'd always undercoat my undercarriage/underside of body on all my other trucks haven't had to do this one , cause it looks like its been rhino lined like my bed was when i got my truck, regular coatings of that for the salt belt wet cold areas you'd see a huge drop in the "rust bucket" status...

Mine has been oilguarded and I touch it up every year, hasn't completely stopped the rust though, you just have to keep on top of it.

Couple places around here are popular. Krown, Rust Check are the two bigger ones that come to mind. Don't know who's big there though
