new/used engine in 1995 Tac, 2.7 liter. Engine fires right up and runs great but dies after 10 seconds if I don't rev engine. If I rev it for a minute or so it continues to run great. Why is it stalling??!!

What have you done so far to troubleshoot it...aside from this post of course?

Check the alternator and it's wiring to see if tight. Auto Zone or Orielly's Auto parts can assist with that free of charge.

We checked the timing last night with a timing light and it looks good, played with the idle adjustment but that seemed good. Took it for a code check this morning and it came back as no crankshaft position sensor. Going to look at the sensor and the wiring connections to see if we can find the problem with that. Anyone had any experience with this?

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
quick guess and i would look at the idle air control valve. I am not a wiz on the 2.7 but I believe all cars and trucks have them and they get clogged from time to time. happened on my S-ER, big pain on my mustang gt but easy to remove and clean, my truck and xterra.
