I mentioned before that both my 2013 and my 2014 rear ends seem to howl, my buddies 2014 seems to do it as well. If going downhill without my foot on the gas, I hear it howling, as long as I'm under 60 mph. The second that I'm over 60 mph with my foot off the gas, it quiets down. Anytime I step on the gas, no howl at all.

I don't think its a big deal and I'm thinking that many or most do it. I plan to run up a few miles on the clock before mentioning it to my dealer. I'm currently at almost 1000 miles. I know that there is a TSB out but I find it hard to believe its not normal based on how many I've heard do it.

    Have you noticed it?

The tires are stock and I do have a LEER cap with an OEM bed mat. I did notice not just in this truck but my past Tacomas that a cap makes the road noise louder, the bed mat helps somewhat. This probably contributes to the noise being noticeable as well.

First, I would check the oil level in the rear. It might be low from the factory. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't noise while decelerating would be pinion bearing and noise while accelereating are carrier bearings. Maybe the pinion preload isn't set right. If the noise persists take it back to the dealer and have it checked.
