I bought my truck 2 months ago and just realized that I don't really know for sure that my TPMS system is working. Any way to test it to confirm or do I just have to wait until I'm losing air somewhere?

Let the air out of one of the tires, or just wait it out until it calls for air.

The dealer or any tire shop has a sensor tool that can tell you if they're working correctly. I would say they are fine unless you have the dash light lit up.

    Very funny, thanks a lot.

I was not sure if letting air in/out through the valves was monitored by the TPMS, and they would only be tripped by air getting out another way. That's why I asked the question.

Is there a certain PSI that a tire has to get down to before the light goes on?

I believe it's a loss of 8-10psi. That may not be the exact number but somewhere close.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    This is just my suggestion.....

If you have a compressor good, if not then drive to an air station.

I suggest you pick the rear drivers side tire, remove the stem valve cover and let air out. Not all the air needs to be let out just enough to check back and look at your dash light indicator section, the "low tire" symbol should be lit? If not go back and let more air out, do this till you see the symbol light up.

When it lights up then you know for sure that the TPMS is working.

If not and the tire is showing signs of it being very low after letting a sufficient amount of air out then you should take it to the dealership and have them check it out, because then you have a problem. Oh and by the way refill the tire with air to the correct amount psi before heading out to the dealership.
