So I have narrowed down my wheel choices to FN BFD, Countersteer or Six Shooter and need to add the tire consideration into the equation now. I will be upgrading my TRD Sport Dbl Cab with 884's in the front and Iron Man leaf pack in the rear, OME shocks all around for ~2 lift. The wheel stats are below. All are 6x139.7 BFD: 18x9/0 offset and 5 BS Countersteer: 16x8/0 offset and 4.5 BS Six Shooter: 17x9/0 offset and 5 BS 1. These were the only wheel sizes on the FN website. I'm seeing from past threads that people have different sizes. Are these the only sizes available? 2. Does anyone have pics of a black Tacoma with the gloss/gunmetal FN's? 3. Thinking of going with Duratrac's. What is all this I am hearing about them not balancing? Thanks guys!

    Hi Jay,

I think I can help answer most, if not all, of your questions:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1) Proper wheel specs in these models (for your second generation Tacoma):

    -Konig Countersteer Offroad : 16x8" / 0mm offset / 4.5" back spacing / 6x139.7mm bolt pattern

-Konig Six Shooter : 17x8" / 0mm offset / 4.5" backspacing / 6x139.7mm bolt pattern No longer offered in 17x9" at this time, due to customer requests for an 8" width instead.

    -FN Wheels BFD : 18x9" / 0mm offset / 5" backspacing / 6x139.7mm bolt pattern
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    2) Here's a photo of a black Tacoma with graphite gunmetal BFDs (I'm sure I have more photos as well, and I will try to post more as I sort through my photos):

    3) I have mounted and balanced a number of sets of Goodyear Duratracs that local customers have brought me. I don't sell tires, but I have handled enough to say that I've never come across an issue with the Goodyear Duratracs balancing / I've never ran into one that was out of round. The volume of Goodyear tires that customer's bring me to mount for them is pretty low overall, but I'd say that I've handled enough to feel confident that they are well made tires.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    4) Tire size fitment for your truck listed with the lift you described (tires listed are the most popular / most common sizes of Goodyear Duratracs only):

    -16x8" Konig Countersteer Offroad
    • 265/75R16 Goodyear Duratrac tires - possibly remove nub on bottom of front fender liner (2006 - 2011) or small front splash guard on the bottom of the fender liner (2012+). Possible need to remove front mud flaps, but unlikely with this lift.
    • 285/75R16 Goodyear Duratrac tires - remove nub or splash guard and remove front mud flaps. Trim plastic over fender (bottom inside corner). Possible and likely need for trimming the frame (cab mount chop, aka CMC).

    -17x8" Konig Six Shooter:
    • 265/70R17 Goodyear Duratrac tires - possibly remove nub on bottom of front fender liner (2006 - 2011) or small front splash guard on the bottom of the fender liner (2012+). Possible need to remove front mud flaps, but unlikely with this lift.
    • 285/70R17 Goodyear Duratrac tires - remove nub or splash guard and remove front mud flaps. Trim plastic over fender (bottom inside corner). Possible and likely need for trimming the frame (cab mount chop, aka CMC).

    -18x9" FN Wheels BFD:
    • 275/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac tires - Remove nub on bottom of front fender liner (2006 - 2011) or small front splash guard on the bottom of the fender liner (2012+). Remove front mud flaps. There should be no need for trimming or cutting.
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have any other questions at all please do not hesitate to let me know. :)

Talk to Dustin at FN Wheels. He has a bunch of pics and might have just what you're looking for. AND you won't find a better guy to deal with. He knows his Tacomas inside and out, wheel specs, what works and what doesn't and first class customer service. I love my six shooters and get and a@@ load of compliments on the truck.
