    Hi everyone

I have a 09 Double Cab and I pulled the trigger on the front lift but the leaf pack issue has spun me out. I have a cap, bed mat, hi lift and tool boxes in the back of my truck at all times. I would guess that all weighs like 250 lbs.

I plan on installing a rear bumper (Pelfreybilt most likely) at a later date as well.

Do I need the expos? I think the standards will handle all of this fine and not ride like a haywagon when my truck bed is unloaded.

    Any advice/recommendations are appreciated.

Also, what size rear shocks should I be looking at? I have kings in the front and would like to stay with kings. Thank you.

I'm in the same boat as you brother. I'm looking to swap out my custom Deavers since I too have a bed cap, hilift, spare tire in the bed and am looking to do the pelfreybilt high clearance rear bumper with swing out. Indecisive about which leaf pack since I don't want to have a lot of rake. I like my truck to sit level.

In short, Both are suppose to be 3" springs. The standard for maintaining 3" up to 300/350 lbs (from what others post) and the Expo's are able to maintain a 3" lift when loaded with 300+. They are made to have a constant load on them. Many owners here have them because they wanted 4" lift but had a REALLY rough ride when unloaded. The Standards will ride better overall when loaded with 250lbs of gear AND unloaded for when the bed is empty.

IMHO the standards will suffice and give you a much better experience. I haven't heard of them sagging at all when loaded up to 300lbs. I have even seen them handle more. Plus, I would rather a bit of sag have a better ride than a bit of rake and a stiff ride.

Just did some searching. The expos might be better, because a constant load of a bed cap (200lbs) and a pelfrey rear bumper with tire carrier and tire mounted (275lbs) would bring you 25lbs shy of 500lbs. with a chest in the bed you would be over 500lbs easy. I think the standard leaf packs would be stressed to maintain lift and a safe decent ride. With the bed loaded up for an excursion you would almost be on the bump stops. Just my thoughts.

I got Expos and I've always thought those were for heavier loads, in my truck I always have an empty bed so they don't really fit my application. The ride is rough with no weight in the bed but whenever you put some weight back there it runs smooth. Hopefully soon I can get rid of these and switch to SUA or a set of deavers

Expos...you can always add weight, but it will really suck ass if you get standards and you end up adding more weight and you get a saggy ass.

I sit around 3'' of lift in the rear with just the Pelfrey H/C with tiregate and nothing else.

For some reason I think you may be limited in sizes for rear shocks if you stick with Kings. I'm pretty sure Kings are only offered in 2.5". Icons are for sure 2.0 or 2.5 sizes, and ADS does 2.125 or 2.5s.
