I have a 2014 Tacoma Dbl cab long bed 4x4. Recently I installed LT 265 16 tires, removed the inner air filter or baffle I guess and installed a K&N filter in lieu of the stock. My gas mileage has gone down about 3 to 4 miles per. Does anyone know if this is due to the tire size increase or the secondary filter or baffle removal?

P vs LT is a big jump in weight, probably close to 8lbs, maybe more depending on the tires.

I would stick with p rated tires to save some weight. It is amazing how much adding weight to your tires kills mpg's.

Definitely the tires. I removed the secondary filter, my throttle response and mileage improved:thumbsup:

Its most likely you tires. I'm running 32's; BFG's 265/17/70 om my 2010 dbl short bed 4x4. i recently put a leveling kit on mine and lifted it 3". Before i got 330 miles on a full tank and now I only get 280-300miles on a full tank. I have stock airfilter and my sencondary is still installed. Word of the wise try keeping the speed around 60-65 any faster and your MPG with nose dive... I recently got 20.4 mpg on my truck going no faster than 65mph.
    good luck

Thank you all for the input, had an idea it might have been the tires. I do prefer having the LT rated tires for serious all around off road use especially when going through old mine sites.

Also looking for stock alloy 16" wheels for sale here in Las Vegas so I can change the spare and have exact same as current running tires, if anyone has info.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
mine is a '11 AC, six speed with the 3.73 rear end and my gas mileage went UP when I put the taller tires on...I went from the stock 245/75R16 (or my winter 245/70R17 tires) to the 265/75R16. You also have to account for the TALLER tire size on your odometer.

    ^

With the poor overdrive on the 6-speed I would not be surprised if a little taller tires helped mpg. Drops the rpm to a more reasonable area.
