I haven't tested this but I imagine it will be strong enough for my needs.

    Here's what I did:

Each bed rail is rated for 220 lbs IIRC. You could do the same thing with 1/4" eye bolts, and tap for 1/4-20. 1/4" hardware is generally rated for 250 lbs.

If anyone is interested, I just received these today. Perfect fit! Now to get the 1/2"~13 bolts to go in them.

I found the perfect ones at Home Depot. At my store they were located on isle 3 - Electrical. The cones come right off and after that it's pretty much a perfect fit.

    I hope this helps someone

Used them to mount my CB antenna

I have those and they I wouldn't say the fit is perfect as they try to turn sideways inside the track. They will due but I wouldn't suggest them as the best option.

Just made a bunch of these. Extra beefy! :D
They barely fit into the rail because I made them as thick as possible. They are 1 5/8" long.
    5056 aluminum tapped for 3/8-16

Not really trying sell those. Kind of a lot of machining on that little piece. Wouldn't be cheap.

Got bored and made a bunch more.

The nice part of aluminum slot nuts is that they wont rust and wont damage the bed rails ;)
Really beefy. Any bigger and they wouldn't fit...
