Sorry for my first post being a "help me" but I am totally at wits end.

Here is the deal. I only hear this sound when there are three people in the truck and the sound is horrible. It sounds like its coming from right front but honestly hard to pin down.

Happens at low speed when turning and is a grinding/clunking sound almost like the tire is rubbing. I took to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything.

Like I said only happens at low speed and only with significant weight in vehicle

    thanks!

My 1st guess would be a CV joint going bad. What do the CV boots look like? I'm going to assume that this is a 4x4 when I said that. If its 2 wheel drive, check your ball joints, tie rods and shock mounts.

You may want to find another mechanic as well, for a 2nd opinion.

You know what it sounds like? It almost sounds like those old curb feelers (remember those?) twanging all over the place and its 2wd

I'd say it almost has to be tire rubbing... are you on stock size tires? My rubbing gets worse the more people you add to the cab.

There is no evidence of any tire rubbing, that was my first thought....I'm gonna load up the truck and see if I can replicated the sound. Man this is really wierd

    Started automatic. Swapped to manual
Could be the cab mounts from sound of it. Got to pry between frame and cab near mounts. Almost bet on it.haha
Yeah should check front mount, should be six mounts to check, but pass side more likely.

Looks like my mechanic has finally figured this out...he said there are two heat shields that start contacting each other when the cab is loaded...makes this clanging and clattering sound. Seems pretty goofy

This sure reminds me of our problem, only ours appeared after
the truck had a rough off road adventure.

How was your problem resolved? Thanks!
