i have a 97 tacoma bought few weeks ago. the horn didnt work and i tracked it down to the clockspring. i took it all apart today and fixed the clockspring which the ribbons was pulled out. got that fixed and tested it with my multimeter and it all looked good to reinstall. installed it, and when i tried the horn i can hear the relay working so i know the clockspring works (didnt hear the relay sound before), but the horn did not work. i checked the fuses and they are fine. i bought a relay incase the horn relay (located behind the fuse box inside the cab) and still no horn.

i checked the horn, since it is a after market one and it works when i wired it quickly to a power source. i checked the power line to the horn and it does not seem to be getting any power. i checked everything from the fuse and still nothing! been working at this for hours and hours and my last resort will simply be put a small button next to the steering wheel but this is driving me crazy that it does not work. (cant i use the ground break from the horn wire under the steering wheel to rig something an bypass the who fuse deal??)

can anyone suggest anything i can look at? i tried to trace the wire from the horn to the fuse box but hard when it goes into the wire loom, i check the fuse box wires and seems good. so i am lost right now why i cant figure out something so simple! any help greatly appreciated. this little truck is fun and just needs a little work for it to be perfect. thanks!

    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
You may have a busted wire strand or somewhere the housing has torn and grounding out on metal. Have you done a continuity test with a grounding probe?
