I am looking for a good used Tacoma to replace the one I wrecked on the ice last winter. I came across this one. Best I have seen so far, but I really need some experienced advice. I found it on the Local Craigs list, and that is where the attached grainy pic came from. It is an 03 Pre Runner 4 door, V6 automatic. An indivdual owns it, it has 138,000 miles on it and he is wanting $10,000.00 for it. The tires, bed cover, and battery are new. Of course, the owner claims it is almost a new truck.
Is this a good price for the milage ?
How many miles of life does it have left to live ?
Any big problems to look for on this year truck ?
    ANY other advice ?

    THANK YOU

    Mark

Pretty clean truck. As for the mileage, a lot is still left. I'm at 181k with poor maintenance from previous owner and still running strong. Price wise, from what I can see in the pic, its worth it, but you can always try to get it for lower. Not too much though. Ask for maintenance records as well as Carfax. Recently had a girl I went to school with get robbed of her money due to someone lying about it never being in an accident.

If you have access to a scanner, scan that bad boy to check for any codes. Do you need 4x4? What do you plan to do with it? You're looking at about 12.5k miles per year on it, which is not bad. Toyo's last damn near forever if they were taken even moderately care of. Crawl under it and look for excess rust, considering where you live. And like Nola indicates, carfax it. That is not always 100%, but better than nothing.
