Wondering who has used SDS and if it really is better than just sealing up the holes and dynamatting the doors?

I just ordered a sound deadening kit from SRS...Don seems to know his shit. $248 to do my 4 doors and back wall, with MLV and CCF.

Just wanted some opinions on if the extra money and time to install is worth it over the standard dynamat approach. Both for killing road noise and getting better SQ. Got a killer Focal speaker/alpine amp stereo on it's way to me now.... any other advice for installing this stuff is appreciated!

I deadened the doors of my GT500 with his stuff. Don is the man, super helpful. It worked great, but it's the only stuff I've used properly, so I can't say whether it's better than Raamat.

Thanks for the reply. No offense to you or Don, cuz he is pretty awesome, but why does everyone just talk about Don when they buy his stuff? I cannot find any reviews on how well his PRODUCT works. Heres how all threads go:

"How well does SRS products work?"

"Don is the man, he know what hes talking about and is awesome"

"oh thanks, what about his products tho?"

"Don is the best at customer service. You can ask him anything and he knows it"

"oh, ok, i guess ill buy his stuff then"

Anyway i guess its too late now. Just spend 260 bucks with Don for material to do my doors and rear wall. I just wanted to know if the results from his product was considerably better than what most people do with Raamat, covering the inside skin.

I reckon People mention Don because of his help deciding not only what to use, but how and where to use it most effectively. I asked him for tips and he basically gave me a 2 page write up.

A lot of people at the time he started out (and probably still now) just slap as much dynamat as they can fit and would call it a day. Don's approach was very different and much more effective. It wasn't just a product he was selling, but a system of doing things differently.

After looking at Raamat a little while back I think they are on the same page now.

Don is why SDS is the way to go. He has invaluable input and knows exactly what and how much you require for your needs. SDS as far as products go, are spot on. The compilation of layers does exactly what it is supposed to. Keep the sound in the truck and exterior noise out. I have had SDS in the truck for years and I have been satisfied since the day I installed it.
