I have had my tires balanced and they can't get them done correctly. I have a shake from 45-65 in the steering wheel and in the seats. Could my wheel spacers be the problem or wheels? They are the 1.25" spidertrax. Also, just an FYI when I bought the truck there was a small vibration in the steering wheel when it was new and never completely went away. Could the bigger wheels and tires have just made it worse and maybe there is a steering column issue or bad front hubs? Any comments or solutions would be very helpful.
I am also going to try and mount my wheels and tires on a local guys truck and see if it shakes while on his. If it doesn't then we know it is something with my truck other than the wheels and tires.

Also, I have put the truck in 4Hi and it still shakes the steering wheel and seats.

Sounds like you need hub rings installed.

You replaced the wheels and tires correct? They need to use a Haweka Adapter to properly balance the tires. Lots of places do not even have one and you end up like you are now.

Search here for the Haweka and you will see what I mean.

If putting larger tires on made the shake worse then you need to find a facility such as Firestone that have a road force balancer to get the tires balanced correctly. What size tires and are the spacers hubcentric or lug centric?

I say get rid of the spacers and find a wheel with the correct offset to give you the look you want. And yes the road force balancing is the only way to go!

Hi I owned a 2012 Tacoma Dblcab all stock and the dealer could never fix it, the
only time it stop was after new Dun-lops were put on by the dealership and that was only for 2 months. I traded it in for a 2014 which I test drove all over before
buying it, but once it got to around 400 miles it to started having steering wheel shake, so it might not be anyone you've done.

I decided to not buy anymore Tacoma's because of this and the inability of the
dealership to solve it, the dealership and Toyota Motor Corp claim they have not
ever heard of this issue. Robert from Toyota Corporation says customers must report these issues before Toyota can investigate. So to make a long story short if you haven't yet please do so report to dealership and Toyota Corporation this issue is so unacceptable.

I wish everyone best of luck as there is no on solution to fix this problem

I have large GoodYear Duratracs on my 2009 Double Cab TRD Sport with a 3" lift. My steering wheel shook a lot too. The solution for me was to get them ROAD FORCE BALLANCED. Normal balancing will not solve the issue. You must get them road force balanced.

As far as I know, the difference is that they essentially put a roller on the tire to put it out of round as it spins. This simulates a load on the tire like you would have during normal driving. Discount Tire typically does this for about $50.

You need to keep this in mind:

Just because you do not know what the solution is doesn't mean there isn't one.

Just want to report this here. Having similar issues with different set up. 2014 Tacoma 2.7L 5speed trans. Last winter I bought a set of wheelersoffroad steel wheels and bridgestone Dueler a/t revo2's and had them put on by firestone in port jefferson NY. Stock suspension. Got the steering wheel shakes- pretty significant. Went to another firestone in another town and they re-aligned and re-balanced (I don't know what they used or did) and the shakes went away for a couple months. Went back to them today and they checked the balance and rotated the wheels and the shakes are SEVERE. I don't have time and money to explore this so I'm going to have the stock wheels and tires re mounted. I have reached out to wheelersoffroad for advice and their input on this. If anyone from the Long Island area is out there with similar stuff going on please PM me.
