I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD with the parking brake bypass. I bought the iPod cable for it so I could play video from my iPod but whenever I try to play video I just get a black screen and audio. I've tried messing with different video settings but no luck. I have an iPod classic and I've read that its a frame ware issue with Apple only allowing video out with Apple products and Apple approved products but the unit says made for iPod so it should work, right?

Does anyone have this unit and if so any luck with getting video to play from your iPod?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Does the iPod cable comes with a red, white and yellow connection or just red and white?

That cable wont work. Ther is a IB bus link that will plug into the bottom of the ipod that will control and give you info from the ipod. Also check to see if you ave the ipod on ntsb or video out to make sure. These are some of the things i am familiar with. Crutchfield has the corect ipod interface set up for that deck check it out.

My friend got this deck recently and had the same problem. You have to go into the initial settings with the deck off and put aux-1 on ipod. Then turn the deck back on, and once your on the ipod source go to the entertainment settings and make sure the background is turned off.

Also when we pulled the deck back out the headphone looking jack thats part of the ipod cable was only half way in which was causing on the audio to play and not the video. Once it was in all the way it works perfect. Also make sure that jack is plugged into the plug that is towards the top and middle of the deck next to the main harness, and not plugged into the port thats next to the usb plug.
