I have a customer who purchased a 2010 Tacoma from me last month. They occasionally have trouble getting it started. It'll crank and crank and will not start. Then an hour later it'll start. We took the vehicle in a few times already and could not re-create the problem, it starts every time for us. No codes have come up the entire time.

I personally have never owned a Toyota. But I want to get my customers truck fixed and none of my technicians can figure out whats wrong with it.

If anyone knows of a common problem with these trucks or has resolved a similar issue in the past please let me know asap. I'm open to all suggestions.

    Thank you!

I had a similar issue with my 2008. Whoever installed the remote start used a no-name version of a immobilizer bypass.

They put a new bypass in and programmed it, presto!

But for that to be a player the truck would need a remote start installed, of course.
The truck would also require the immobilizer... which from what I was told, immobilizers aren't required in the USofA. Not sure?
