I bent the cross member on a bolder wheeling without a spotter. The front dropped off a rock and I didnt I didnt brake hard enough. I hit the cross member hard and the all pro skid doesnt cover it like my new relentless one does. Everytime the cross that skid hits a rock now the cross memeber bends alittle more.

Ill spend money on armor before ride quality. Ill get around 1300 to 1400 for my current rear and Ill sell my all pro IFS and old transmission skid. The difference shouldnt be to pricey...

Damnnn... Yeah that's a smart move to invest in the armor before pricey suspension. You gotta protect your drivetrain and frame. That sounds rough dude, it must have sounded like a really hard hit when it happened.

Oh by the way. If you want a great substitute bump stop over rubber, get them from GM. Their full size Chevy Silverado bumps have been fantastic on my rear end! It's like landing on pillows in the rear! Add some thick washers to the stud to equal out to 4.5" mount to the frame and you are set.

Should have told me a week ago. I got the ones below because I had them in a 2.5 and they were great.

Been running them for two years now. And I jump my truck. They have been awesome stops. Since they are meant for a full size truck, they can more then handle the rear of the second gens. Even more so of the first gens.

I KNOW they would work on first gens. You can make anything work. If the rear end of the 1st gens are anything like 2nd, you can mount them to the frame like I did mine.

So the shock extensions do not fit icons but it was worth a try. Hopefully the longer bump stops will keep the wheels off the fenders with the new spacers.

The issue is the bolt is far fatter than the nut.

I called toytec twice to see if they would fit and no one answered so I just ordered them. They were so cheap it doesnt matter.

Snuck a glance at my wife email. 10,000 pound smittybilt 2nd gen x20 winch with synthetic line has been ordered. Ill probably have to wait till my birthday in November to get it. I’m going to open up the solenoid and reseal it. I’m also going to re grease the gears with a better grease. I want to relocate the solenoid but im having an issue with finding a cost effective wayto do it. Maybe someone can help.

In other news. I’m going to need surgery in January for a cyst that I have already had two surgery’s to remove. So im going to have to cut back on truck stuff for a bit to save for the surgery. I’ll be on bed rest for 3 weeks after so I’ll be all over TW while I’m dosed on drugs... I guess it’s going to be a short ski season to. I won’t be able to do much for a few months after.

the newer smitty's have one solenoid setup all integrated and sealed, quite nice actually. Should be no need to attempt to seal it further. Also very compact if you remove it from the plastic cover it's housed in. Relocating is really as simple as extending the leads and mounting it somewhere under the hood.
Bummer on the surgery! Heres to a speedy recovery!

Thank you. I hope its not to long of a recovery. I have had this surgery twice before but this time they are cutting out alot more. I just hope it works this time.

As far as extending. Is it as simple as getting some 1/0 butt connectors and 1/0 wire, shrink wrap and electrical tape.

    No, wouldnt go that route.
Just get a length of red and black cased wire and some lugs for the ends, route the wires to measure necessary length, and then cut to length. Then strip the insulator from the ends and use a punch and 3lb hammer to crimp/stake the lug onto the end of the leads (if you dont have a large crimper which I'm assuming you dont, most dont have them so the hammer/prunch will suffice). That way theres no splicing/extending of the existing, you're just making entirely new lengthened leads for it. It's pretty simple really.

Thanks Eric. Any suggestions on a guage of wire. People seem to be using all different types. Im still going to try to set enough money aside for your rear HC bumper with swingouts and side tubes. Plus a 1/4 IFS. But we will see.

Or should i just leave it in the bumper. Is there room for it on the winch in your bumper of should I mount it off to the side somewhere.
