I have a base regular cab 2009 5 speed. I don't have the truck with me, but I am curious. If it is raining outside will both rear wheels spin, or just the right side rear wheel?

It's an open differential, so whichever tire has less traction will spin/burnout. Your autoLSD will kick in (I think 2009s have this) and apply the brakes to that wheel to send power to the other one with traction.

Yeah, the truck has a "Auto LSD" light that comes on if I turn off the traction control. Again, I haven't really played around with this yet as I just got the truck.

yeah auto lsd doesn't work unless you turn vsc off with the button.

really i don't get it though. it makes sense for a 2wd truck but it you have a problem with a rear tire slipping in a 4wd truck you can just switch to 4x4 to get out. that is my thoughts on it anyways.

Standard 4wd has 2 open diffs. It's not at all uncommon to have 1 tire on each end spinning.
