My truck needs something to help the power since I installed P265/75-16's.

Was thinking turbo, 4.56's or trade to a full size truck. I like my truck but it's a little light and short on power to tow my compact tractor. Really do not want to trade but can get a great deal on a new Chevy. I only need to tow my tractor 6 miles round trip once a week.

Ozboost has a non-intercooled turbo for 2K shipped. ReGear will cost similar and the intercooled turbo cost 4K, the supercharger is 5K. I can install the turbo or supercharger myself but the ReGear will need to be done by a pro.

Trading, the chevy drives, rides great and is very quiet. The dash is just horrible. They offered me 21K for the Tacoma and the chevy was at cost plus I got the rebates and all of the hold back.

What's the best thing for me to do?

Any post I've read where someone re-gears they say if feels closer to what the stock tire setup was. Also depending on how low you re-gear too will matter. But then you're stuck with always having to buy larger tires (probably not a bad thing).

I had a non-coooled turbo diesel a ways back. I wouldn't do that again. Turbos generate too much heat, once you cross a certain point you can't generate any actual power with the heated charge and you risk engine damage. I could run 4-6psi of boost, after that the EGT would start climbing fast. On hard usage even the low boost would start the needle climbing and you're backing off the throttle. Same setup with an IC, very little issue.

Gearing would be the 1st step imo. You can buy complete 3rds for 600-800, if you can install a SC you can swap 3rds. You want to go a step deeper than stock, you're wanting to compensate not just for the increased diameter but also the extra weight.
