wiring 2 pole ign switch on dirtbike

    i wired in a ignition switch (key) on my dirtbike and it doesnt work...one pole goes to ground and the other goes to some other wire that was hooked up to the push button switch....when the key is off the circuit is closed, therfore the bike can start. When the key is on it completes the circuit therefore the nike CANT run because its grounding the bike....this is completely backwards and i cant for the life of me firgure out how to make it correct


    any ideas???
