    who goes for that long between oil changes? i do 6-7k max. or 5 months, whichever comes first. only reason i bought the extended was bc it was the only 5 qt. in stock :)

    Mixing grades is fine. The additive package might be slightly different....I wouldn't worry about it.

    I know too many certified mechanics to think they know squat about oil composition. And if they think viscosity is anything but a measurement they are even lower in the barrel than i give them credit for. Ask them how many extra hp you will get by switching to high octane gas :laugh:

    Yea this!! If its an oil or powerplant (engine) engineer, ill listen to them about mixing oil grades. Most mechanics i know are not up on the book smarts of things.


    Saying that i would not worry about it.
