I have a 2012 DCSB 4x4 auto Trans with 71k on the clock. It's my first taco, and I'm happy with the truck, but does anyone else notice that their transmission isn't very smooth? I mostly notice it shifting from 1-2 and 4-5. I had the fluid flushed and refilled along with a filter change at the dealer about a week ago. I wouldn't quite call it hard shifting, just not smooth shifting. I also notice it's a little clunky downshifting when I brake. I pulled the negative battery cable and reset the ECU as well. I guess I'm just wondering if this is a characteristic of the tacoma, or of my Trans will grenade on me at 100k plus. I had a ford ranger before this, and it was pretty smooth, and my dads 95 silverado is smoother than mine too.

    Thoughts? Thanks for your time.

smooth is not always good. Smooth means its slipping the clutches during shifts. I wouldnt call it clunky, just positive. but WAY smoother than my 01 2500hd that i had the trans redone on.... that would chirp the tires between 1st n 2nd.... those were HARD shifts.
