I'm looking to add a double din HU and instead of keeping my JBL system. Upgrade the door speakers.

    1) Is there a wiring harness I can buy that just gives you the basic needs, Power, Acc, Ground? I don't want to spend $50 bucks on a wiring harness just for those. At the same time, I don't like splicing into the factory wiring.

Yes, I'll be running separate amps for the door speakers and sub.

    2) Has anyone used these component speakers? JBL GTO608C

    http://www.amazon.com/JBL-GTO608C-6...1770377&sr=8-4&keywords=JBL+Component+speaker

They come with a mounting system for the tweeter. Was just wondering if it worked with our trucks or if I'll have to MAKE it work.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since I will never ride in the rear of my truck, should I upgrade the rear speakers? Will it make that much difference overall? I have the factory JBL speakers.

Thanks for any help and advice. Also looking to add some bass to the truck. Would like to run a single 10" but from what I've found online, it's cheaper or the same price to run 2-10's. Since there isn't many single box options out there and we are limited on the sub size due to the depth restrictions.

There isn't that much room behind the rear seats, so I'm looking at subs that normally I would just skip over. In my last few vehicles I've ran JL Audio W3's but I've owned RF, Eclipse, Alpine etc.. I'm looking at some RE Audio 10's. Reason being they are affordable and have a shallow enough mount that they'll work behind the seats. REXv2 or SRX10. There is about a $10 difference in price for a pair. Has anyone had experience with either of these subs? likes? dislikes?

If you know of another sub that I should take into consideration for about the same price feel free to share.

depends on your box building skills,
Richard is a member on here and he has 2 shock triton 12s sealed behind his seats and loves it. Id suggest for people with less fabrication skills to use 2 shok triton 8s ported. Optimal ported volume is .9CF. These little monsters fit perfectly and can take Allot of power if needed. I have clients using 2-3x rated power to the triton line without any significant problems.

I have personally owned all those subs and personally id never run shallow mount subs ever again. For the price point, the tritons CANNOT be beaten.

I haven't heard of those subs before. Are they more for SQ or SPL?

Thanks for the reply, I'll look into them.

*EDIT* just watched a YouTube video on them, holy hell. They can shake a car apart!!
