OK, so I read last weekend (after two hours under the dash) about all the various problems that people are having finding the Trailer Brake Controller Harness on 2nd Gen Tacos. Well, I have yet ANOTHER place that it might be found.

After spending a couple of hours under the dash last weekend I gave up. I found several "other" connectors that weren't the right one. My husband was taking the Taco in for it's 5k complimentary checkup and oil change - so he mentioned it to the dealer.

THREE HOURS and FOUR TECHS later, they still hadn't found it! The senior tech comes out of the truck and tells them to call the guy who's specialty is repairing wiring harnesses. This after they'd pulled the whole dash.

The wiring harness guy found it. Where? Behind the speedometer. Yes, really - BEHIND the speedometer.

Toyota, which I've been driving for 30 years, definitely gets a black eye for this one. But the Dealer where I bought the vehicle, Findlay Toyota in Las Vegas, gets TWO THUMBS UP...after all that they didn't charge a time - though I hope they send Toyota a bill!

Pretty sure the dealer has a wiring diagram with complete information for 2014 vehicles. Tards.
