my truck came with 265/70/r16s, which seem to do great, but while wiping down the door sills i read the placard which states the o.e tire size of 245/75/16. i know the sidewall is slighty higher and less narrow, is this a common thing when it comes to tire changes? whats the advantages/disadvantages of this? it rides and handles great. just curious. speedo seems to be about 1 mph off but thats it

speedo being off probably has something to do with the cable going to the tranny. maybe the previous owner just got a smoking deal on em.

This is a common tire size replacement. If you don't take the truck off the blacktop, it's pointless to go larger than oem in my opinion. Won't hurt anything on the truck. It'll throw the speedo off and may decrease mpg and make the truck slower off the line. But all of those will be very minimal.

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
The OR PKG came with 265/70 and most ppl go up to a 265/75. A wider tire will also help with breaking and epecially if u tow anything. The speedo are fast from the factory, if u go to the 265/75 it will correct the speedo but then ur odo will be about 3% slow.
