It's a good question. This is what I found. Sounds like airborne means the virus simply escapes the body through the mouth without needing a forceful cough or sneeze. It can escape simply by breathing it out.

Having said that, I sure as hell don't want to be anywhere near a person coughing or sneezing with ebloa.

that's why they've been tracking the movement of that dude here that was infected. at room temperature, it can live on a surface for a varying amount of time, up to 48 hours IIRC

The DC BS today had me wondering as I'm talking to our salesman who drove up from there this morning

 

Here is a scenario to think about...20-30 Islamic extremists head to Africa and intentionally contract Ebola. Before they show any symptoms they hop on planes and head to major cities across the US. Once they begin showing symptoms, and are therefore contagious, they do everything they can to spread the disease among the general population and/or infect US-based extremists who go out and do the same. In no time we'd have a major outbreak on our hands...
