ya, I think they get like $100 each for those things.

my friend is a mechanic and says not many get stolen anymore because the "reputable" places stop buying them except fron salvage yards, auto/muffler shops, or dealerships, and you have business license number or have drivers license ID to sell them for scrap. its so they can try to track thieves that have no reason to have cats to sell as scrap. still only catches them after they sell a few to get flagged but they are trying to make it harder on those parasites that steal for a living.

Won't be much longer until we are back to conditions in the wild west, getting knifed in the back for your boots.

Same thing happened to my brother-in-law's Tacoma a while back. He had to deal with a big hassle to get it replaced under insurance. Maybe I'll take a few minutes tomorrow and sharpen my heatshields and add some lock nuts :)

No doubt that a death sentence for theft was unmerciful. No argument there.

But the way it "goes" ... zombies stealing your stuff to buy more death from their death dealing dealer goes a whole new "way" never seen before?

So ok. Maybe my comparison to the old west was too optimistic?

Do you really think someone is going to try and remove your lock nuts? People who steal catalytic converters aren't completely retarded. They use saws.

    Knock yourself out, though.
